“Carbon-Freeze Me” Experience at Star Wars Weekends 2012

Wow, rather cool… and expensive this carbon freeze stuff!

Coming this year to Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ll have the opportunity to relive the famous carbon freezing scene from The Empire Strikes Back with the “Carbon-Freeze Me” experience. This new experience was created especially for Disney Parks, and is part of our “D-Tech Me” line that uses technology to take personalization to a whole new level.
Using state-of-the-art imaging technology, this experience casts your likeness as a three-dimensional, eight-inch figurine. At the “Carbon Freezing Chamber” (located adjacent to The American Idol Experience), several cameras will capture multiple angles of your face. The images are then reconstructed in a computer for processing, and, in approximately four weeks, the completed figurine is shipped directly to your house.

Each carbonite figurine is $99.95 (plus shipping).

Well, what can we say? Once released in 2007 ish, with just truly rubbish articulation for such cool figures, Hasbro have finally righted the wrongs on this awesome figure. Originally sold as a set at this years San Diego Comic Con for $50, and then online at Toys R Us for a ‘blink and it was scalped’ momment, it now fetches around $80-$180 online. Not bad for a set only out two weeks ago!

We believe this will actually become some kind of re-relase or store exclusive again later this year, but we don’t reccomend banking on that happening!

One of the key characters from Season 3’s clone wars makes it’s way to the toy line. Most definetly a member of the simpsons cast, this dude is seriously yellow! However, it he has some excellent paint work, two decent weapons and a good size.
