Hello Star Wars fans, this is GLJossan, welcome to The Power of the Fans!
Here we are today, I’m curious about everyone’s thoughts on things. If you’ve been reading my articles, you all know I love original characters, absolutely love them, you mite have also noticed by tearing into a certain episode of Clone Wars where it had Darth Maul turned from a straight up bad ass into a sniveling little weasel at the sight of Darth Sidious. Well, obviously I’m disgruntled by the way they’ve portrayed the Sith, and I want to know your opinions on what makes a great Sith Lord. Is it what I’ve been complaining about, maybe I’m right in my complaints, I want your feedback. I want to know your dream Sith, attitude, personality, intelligence, influences, appearance, skills, the whole nine yards!
Well, here is how you tell us what you think, there are a few options, there will sooner or later be a post on our facebook, you can leave a comment there, also below in the comment section of this article, Tweet me @PoweroftheFans or send me an e-mail at FGJossan@gmail.com ! The Power of the Fans: Custom Figure and Diorama Edition - February 20, 2013 http://bit.ly/UJghZI Hello Star Wars fans, this is GLJossan, welcome to this edition of The Power of the Fans: Custom Figure and Diorama edition!
Hey guys! Sorry I took so long to get this out, but I think the wait was worth it! I have some 6 inch customs, an awesome Dio and a whole lot of awesome! Tell me what you think of this, as well as shove some of your own work at me on Twitter @PoweroftheFans or E-Mail me at FGJossan@gmail.com
First up we got this AMAZING 6 inch Luke Skywalker from Return of the Jedi, it’s by one of my favorite customizors over at The Fwoosh. I know I couldn’t have done this better, the head is dead on, I think I read in his thread that he shrunk a sideshow mold. I hope we get a black series Luke similar to this, it’s my favorite look for Luke. 6 inch RotJ Luke Skywalker by Lestat on The FwooshSource
Here is probably the coolest Diorama I have ever seen, this thing made me want to make one, Hoth was always my favorite settings and this is just done so beautifully, I really want to see it with figures and blaster bolts flying! Hoth Diorama by Wbobafett on Rebel ScumSource
Just a bit of a repaint, but this gave it a lot more life than was given to it by Hasbro and I like that, not to knock Hasbro either, I love those guys, they are great, just this really stands out big time! They look like real metals on his armor that have been dirtied up a bit, also has some nice detail work that brings out the sculpt more. Durge by KeepitClean on The Imperial ShipyardsSource
Master K’kruhk, not familiar with this character in the least, but I see him everywhere and it’s really cool to see him in plastic form and to be done so well, I can’t see any flaws in him; everything just looks right from the hands to the lower legs and feet. Superb job! Master K’kruhk by Stronox on The Imperial ShipyardsSource
Okay, here is the last one, another by Lestat and another two 6 inch figures, Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade, completely awesome, if I were able to do the head of the Luke, I’d make this exact Luke my self, just an awesome awesome figure and the Mara Jade, oh such a cool thing to see, I hope we can get some awesome stuff like this in the black series my the Star Wars toy gods at Hasbro give us some really good stuff, pleeease! Anyway I should seriously stop harping on the black series… But yeah, these customs are my top picks for this set, it was a hard decision between this and the Hoth Diorama, SUCH a close choice too, but I thought people would like this one more so here it is! 6 inch Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade by Lestat on The FwooshSource
Well, that’s everything, hope you guys and gals satisfied, it sadly seems Star Wars customs were slow lately, which is disappointing. BUT, this is why I ask for the help, customs need to be found, and need to be given their time in the light, so please…
As always…
I’d appreciate some help and guidance on where to go and things I should see that may deserve a posting, E-Mail me a link at FGJossan@gmail.com or tweet me @PoweroftheFans with #ThePoweroftheFans and it will probably see it’s day in the sun. Hey guys, GLJossan here, who missed me? Sorry I haven’t been posting so much, things have been a little weird lately, plan to see pictures from me from Hasbro’s show room for Toy Fair!
Next Thursday, expect more art, and the Monday after that, expect to see customs again!
But, until that time, here is something I’ve been working on, Flyguy told me to show it off so here it is, may I present to you, the Flyguy Trooper, the Aurebesh on his arm reads “Fly” on the shoulder and “Guy” on the forearm! I’d also like to note; it’s not done, I still need to do a unhelmeted head and a few touch ups here and there.
Any way, with out further delay; The Flyguy Trooper!
Well, that’s everything, hope you guys and gals enjoyed the custom!

Sadly this article is a bit more empty than I wanted, but that’s going to happen from time to time, customs can be slow and with out people helping me out on Twitter or sending my E-Mails, it hurts it, but any way onto the customs!
First up, this is probably more most original of the creations I’ve found, on the internet outside of dioramas. This had to have had more blood sweat and tears put into it than most customs. Hand-carved wooden figures and land speeder by Hockey_History on Rebel ScumSource
Here is a diorama of Mos Eisley, it was pretty cool, I’ve been trying to make something of my own like it, though my is much less elaborate. But, this thing is great, the scene on it looks pretty awesome too, you have the used droid dealer, the Sandtroopers, it’s all just awesome. Mos Eisley Diorama by BlackThorne on The Imperial ShipyardsSource
Hasbro! Take some notes here, I would LOVE a figure just like this to be made, sure it’s not exactly completely accurate to the cartoon, but that’s not always a bad thing, I want a “realistic” version of Cad Bane. (as well as that Rex that got canceled.) Non-Cartoon style Cad Bane by JetpackBlues on The Imperial ShipyardsSource
Okay this was a neat stumble, Here is a bit of a collection of figures, based on World War2 and the 1940s, you have Darth Vader, Tarkin, a Stormtrooper and a Snowtrooper. They seem to have had thought put into them, and are pretty awesome, my personal favorite would be the Snowtrooper. I came across the Snowtrooper first and thought it was awesome and then noticed the Stormtrooper in the picture as well, causing me to search out the others. World War 2/1940s Star Wars by JetpackBlues on The Imperial ShipyardsSource
Awesome figure, at first I thought it was an original character, but came to find out it was a character from KOTR 2, this one is quite exceptional, I couldn’t even tell you the base figure used for it. (Than again I’m also not that well versed with the figures off the top of my head.) The paint applications are perfect, I think I’m in love with this custom, it’s pretty awesome. Another neat detail by the customizer, each robe layer gets darker, the outer cloak is a medium grey, the inner is a darker grey, and the turleneck like piece coming from under the inner robe is black. Darth Traya by Stronox on The Imperial ShipyardsSource
Well, that’s everything, hope you guys and gals satisfied, it sadly seems Star Wars customs were slow these passed two weeks, which is disappointing that this is all I could get. BUT, this is why I ask for the help, customs need to be found, and need to be given their time in the lite, so please…

Wow! Hasbro please take note of this dude…Major Star Wars figure talent!

On one of our recent podcasts which we run with dbsw.net shared this amazing find on the Rebelscum forums. The talents of ‘Evergrey’, a person with some serious talent for figure sculpting.

I’m a Collector myself, and the only reason I am doing this is to (cough) get the ANH Han Solo (and a couple other Figures) that I always wanted.

Not for sale obvioulsy so stop drooling too much, but make sure you head over to the forum page where some amazing images such as the few were posting below can be found. Hasbro need to up the ante! (Or hire this guy!) Seriously amazing stuff.

One thing I notice is no matter what anyone does, and as awesome as these sculpts are, it doesnt matter when it comes to Qui-Gonn, I think I have came to the conclusion in figures with that damn mullet of his, Qui Gon will always seem to look like Rowlf from the muppets.

Star Wars fans build awesome home cinema and more…

      Like…wow…

Kim Howett, 41, and her husband, Jim, 43, said they have loved Star Wars since the first movie came out in 1977. They began designing their home around the Star Wars themed theater in 2006, which was completed last year. And they never seem to get tired of watching a video in the theater — which they call a “subtle reference” to their favorite movie series.

“We still are blown away,” Kim Howett said.

With 12 large black leather recliners nestled in three levels of tiered gray carpeted pockets between gray walls with murals that look like windows looking out to the Death Star and Rebel fighter ships, if Darth Vader wanted to watch a DVD and put his feet up, this is probably where he’d do it.

“People thought we were crazy at first,” Kim Howett said. “But we wanted an acoustically proper room. All the nooks are there for a reason and we wanted to make it look good.”

Knowing that Kim and Jim Howett are avid Star Wars collectors, designer Jamie Pauls came up with the idea of the Darth Vader style room. And the Howetts were swayed by the dark side.

“We wanted to do something Star-Warsy and Vader kicks ass,” Kim Howett said.

Pauls designed the theater and provided the sound system, and worked with Orren Pickell of Designers & Builders in Lake Bluff to construct the 20- by 30-foot room with 14-foot high ceilings, and acoustic paneling that’s built to look like the inside of a space ship, but sound like the audience is on the movie set.
