Not only do we get the tease for the captain here, but another clone in the form of the 442nd Siege batallion trooper too, get saving those pennies! If we know sideshow these will have a pre-order up in 2-4 weeks. Keep locked on our social channels for a chance to find out when!

Those sandy troopers have managed more scraping of images from someone, and even though really (really) low res, we do get a sneak on at least once decent clone coming soon. Albeit still a repack of the Vintage collection AOTC clone, but a corker of a figure he was. And super articulated too!
Have to say the rest of the figures leave me sadly disspaointed as all in major repack & repaint territory. That Han Solo is pushing six years old I think!

We already had the (sorry artist whoever you are!) really awful packaging, the dire worldwide ‘secrets revealed’ web site not loading issues, non printed discs for USA only it seems, and then the iMyopic Apple only release of this app for $600 USA only devices… Only to then roll it out only on iPhones to select others earlier this week.
Truth is, the app is really not very good. And highly dispensable. There ain’t no sexy deleted goodies here, all very okay at best.Sure they can update it, but a wet flop of a launch.
Sluggish as hell as it trys to download fat video files (I’m on a super fast mobile network and Wi-fi was not much better), this is an excercise in ‘check in the box’ marketing as far as I’m concerned and really does not do a great deal.
Widescreen only, with a longish lightsaber loud intro you must watch EVERY SINGLE time it loads…sigh. And despite hitting the mute button in the app, the sound will not turn off AT ALL! WTF? (Unless of course you mute the entire phone, so your not presented with cinematic music every time you use it.) Yes even when your deciding to surf at work or sitting on the intergalatic ‘fresher…
There is nothing here that requires an iPhone what-so-ever…It could easily have been built on the web and available on ALL mobile devices, and all Star Wars fans immediately, but no. Sadly limited and a bit of snobbish and out of touch approach with your customers to restrict by device and regions on such a global set of movies.
A lifelong fan of these movies as I’m sure you are, I’m just deeply dissapointed when such a kick ass IP, as Star Wars is, that thier blu ray release has had as much marketing love as the release of a new hoover or fridge. That’s really about how exciting this marketing has been to me. The force is really not with this campaign at all and sadly has been one overhyped, underperforming ‘saga’ I’d rather forget.Jeez, the Special Editions with barley any internet had awesome marketing, stunning posters and mega support, this? Not so much.
I always did and still do have a bad feeling about these blu ray releases… and I feel fleeced already.
Yes we know the movies will look and sound great, but you probably own them already! However the discs we know that the extras are ‘ok’ and is still missing tons of needed footage, as well as the fact we will all be buying these again in years to come. Just not as ‘impressive’ as it should have been. What’s your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below or on facebook.com/flyguydotnet

Lucasfilm have been sharing the new Star Wars Blu ray’s with a select audience of home theatre web sites. We get a sneak peek more in to the box and it’s goodies!
At a private event in New York City last week, our friends at Lucasfilm and Fox pulled back the curtain all too briefly for an exciting peek at the Blu-rays as part of the 2011 Star Wars Media Day. Two clips were played (one from a classic film, one from a prequel) to demonstrate the quality of the brand-new 1080p/DTS-HD Master Audio 6.1 remasters, on a Panasonic plasma and over a Panasonic HTiB systemRead more

Finally got round to watching the above, but if you haven’t seen the original it’s below:
So we stayed up last night endlessly refreshing like many, to see what would be delivered as part of the Blu Ray announcement. What was a server crash spectacular for many, we managed to snag some early peeks at the Episode I-III Yoda artwork, and now the Darth artwork for the original trilogy is now here.
Both appear okay at best to us here, but especially with YEARS of stunning artwork, movie posters and more, this just does not cut it for such grand movies.
However, with respect to the artist (as I sure as hell can’t paint) what seems to be sticking out to us here at flyguy towers more than anything is the Anakin cover above. REALLY? Is it just us? Is that the best we can do for such epic films?
Whats you thoughts? Have we no taste? Or you in agreement that we should have been seeing the original movie artwork or some classic artists work rather than this new piece?
