The Power of the Fans: Art Edition - March 17, 2013 http://bit.ly/Yi0XDH
Hello Star Wars fans, this is GLJossan, welcome to The Power of the Fans: Art edition!
I hope you brought your bathing suits, because we’re swimming in Original Characters this time around, also at the end of this I’ll be including a schedule for The Power of the fans, so make sure to keep reading passed the pictures!
Okay, as you guys all probably have noticed I like to lead off with something amusing and/or funny, well I’m pretty sure I was able to deliver on this! I’m a huge fan of The Walking Dead, and obviously Star Wars, so this was just awesome. I like the look, I don’t see this coming off as well with out it being cartoonish like this, but there is a lot of awesome to look at, the background it pretty neat that and seeing Rick and Daryl as ewoks is just fun. The Ewoking Dead by JohnnySegura3rd On Deviant ArtSource
Alright, not onto an original character, this one is pretty awesome, it’s a Pau’an Sith Lord. The detail on this guy is amazing, from the lines on his face to the designs on his robes to the glow of the saber over his body. I almost want to steal this guy for a custom, but with my plans for customs tell me not to. But either way, awesome looking character and I would love to know what the background of him is, which sadly the artist has not provided. sith by WhoAmI01 On Deviant ArtSource
Okay, at this all I can say after looking at this, I’ve signed up to become a Imperial Stormtrooper. Sadly after doing so, my aim has significantly decreased… I should probably stop staring at this picture and actually look where I’m aiming, right?
Anyway though, on a serious note, I guess you could say it’s an original character, though I think it’s more meant to be a pin-up than an actual character. This is great, the shading is really well done, I like the fact it’s black and white, very soft in terms of everything. The most bold thing is the visor on the helmet, which sadly draws me away from everything else when I look at the picture, which is is unfortunate because it’s such a cool piece. SW-shturm-fast by Savvader On Deviant ArtSource
Woohoo, another original character! This one seems to be well thought out, a Zygerrian, looking as though she stepped from the Clone Wars cartoon and into a comic. The hues in the shading and coloring of the skin/fur is really well done, as well as the hair, it looks very nice, the over all look is awesome, though the right hand looks a bit small in comparison to the rest of the arm, but a minor thing, hands are a pain to draw anyway, so I’m not holding it against the artist. Detail is great and the shows are quite consistent, over all a really good piece. Nora Sekhmet Vadik by tigrin On Deviant ArtSource
Like I said, swimming in original characters, and this isn’t even that last of them! Here we have a Kiffar and a twi’lek, we’ve got a cartoon style, very cell shaded, reminds me of something like if the people who did Avatar: The Last Airbender and Avatar: Legend of Korra did them, which, honestly I completely approve of, a hude fan of the style and I really like these two characters, nice flat colors and shading, everything well thought out and placed. I can tell by looking at them, they’ve definitely have stories to tell. Vala Jos / Keeran Raaf pt. 2 by frostious On Deviant ArtSource
Okay, another original character, though at the same time, it’s not, it’s an original Clonetrooper. An odd one, but I liked it, it closely resembles the Clone Wars cartoon’s style, which I think personally is a huge plus on this, especially with the unfortunate news, about the series. Any way, this guy seems to have seen a lot of battle, from the look of her armor as well as the details of his face, it’s the little things that draw someone into a story and this picture tells one. Say hello to my friend by rayn44 On Deviant ArtSource
Here’s one that was sent to me in an E-mail, something I didn’t expect to happen. (Seriously I found it 15 days after it was sent, sorry mate.) But totally worthy of my list! It got a laugh out of me and also seems to really go with the whole cartoon looks that are on the list this round. I like the expression on Han’s face and how he holds the severed arm with index finger and thumb, I also like the flat colors with out the outlines, very Samurai Jack like! Wizards in Space Episode III: Holiday Special by Kristoffer Lindseth sent to me Via E-mailSource
Alrighty, the last of our pictures with created characters, one is the artist’s character from SWTOR along side Sith Inquisitor companion Khem Val. It’s comedic looking, heavy influences of anime, again another fun one, but it’s always great to have fun stuff, otherwise it’d get dull, right? The picture has a mix of flat colors and shading which throws the picture off a little. Qi and Khem by richardbrady On Deviant ArtSource
This one is pretty dang awesome, a sith willing to fight to his last breath against a mob of jedi, this makes this one sith look more badass than most of the ones Lucas has made, or what he turned them into later on. Sith doesn’t make one a whiny sniveling coward, it should make one a bad ass villain who would fight his way out of a situation instead of whimper and snivel out of it.
Any way, I love the scene painted for it (figuratively and literally speaking.) A field of snow, which continues to fall, Jedi in the dark distance, to which all you can see it their sabers, it makes me wonder why this guy must have done to have so many jedi pursuing him. Outnumbered by JamesJiaXu On Deviant ArtSource
Well, that’s everything, I hope you guys enjoyed these as much as me, my mind got blown by all the great stuff this round!
Alrighty, from now on, this is how we’ll be doing things, every other week on Friday we will have the Art Edition and the last Monday of every month we’ll have the Custom Figure and Diorama Edition
And as always…
I’d appreciate some help and guidance on where to go and things I should see that may deserve a posting, E-Mail me a link at FGJossan@gmail.com or tweet me @PoweroftheFans with #ThePoweroftheFans and it will probably see it’s day in the sun. Atlanta artist extraordinaire Christian Waggoner has done it again with a second stunning Boba Fett print - this time featuring the reflection of our favourite Dark Lord of the Sith. This is the umpteenth piece in his official Star Wars ‘Reflections’ series, and will surely sell out in both the commissioned canvas and prints.
Waggoner’s art style is an incredibly life-like result that is quite hard to believe is created with paint and brush, and if you’re looking for a colectable that will add impact into your life, it would be hard to go past one of his pieces.

Hello Star Wars fans, this is GLJossan, welcome to The Power of the Fans: Art edition!
Got some good stuff for you this time around! We have childhood memories and original characters, it’s some great stuff
Here we have Admiral Akbar and Boba Fett, they’re a pair of neat “super deformed” character art. They’re quite fun looking and have totally caught my eye, the artist Shatos seems to specialize in this style, I am quite the fan of these. They’re surprisingly detailed, a big thumbs up on these two. Mon Calamari by shatos On Deviant Art Boba Fett by shatos On Deviant ArtSource
Here we go, a nice good original character, looks to be based on SW:TOR. It has an interesting style, it seems to draw me to the face and I just am not sure what it is, maybe things are a bit sharper the closer you get to the face, but either way, it looks great! Did someone order up an original Twi’lek Sith character? I honestly love this picture, Twi’leks are one of my favorite alien races, and this just looks menacing without looking overly scary and most of all just looks badass. I’m really drawn in to the eyes, a lot of detail in the face, it’s very nice. Sith Warrior by Seraph777 On Deviant ArtSource
Awesome story-board/comic page art here, we all know this scene from the Revenge of the Sith. I love the emotion of the picture, they look real yet animated, I don’t know how to explain it, I guess they are animated but the emotion they are showing looks real (I’ll also take this Anakin over Hayden Christensen any day, this one actually looks like he can show emotion.) But anyway, I like this a lot, and would love to see more of this. Star Wars - You were the chosen one! by Okha On Deviant ArtSource
Okay, another original character and this one REALLY blew my mind out of the water! I mean I’m nearly left speechless! Seriously, some either future or maybe ancient jedi master of the same race as Yoda, it’s just really awesome! The attention to detail is also astounding; I mean you can see every crease on his skin, every hair on his head and even the glow of the lightsaber from behind his right arm when the blade isn’t even visible. I keep expecting this guy to just jump from my screen and give me a speech about fear turns into anger and all that. Jedi Master by KeithChildress On Deviant ArtSource
Okay here is my favorite, this one just screams childhood memories, reminding me how awesome my childhood was thanks to Star Wars. This picture is purely amazing, the detail is amazing as well, I mean actual Star Wars bed sheets and marvel comic! It’s all one needs as a kid is their imagination and a card board box… and maybe their own chew-bark-a. Light Speed by jpzilla On Deviant ArtSource
Well, that’s everything, I hope you guys enjoyed these as much as me, I still cannot get enough of the one of the kid and his dog, it really hits home for my childhood!

Well, that’s everything, I hope you guys enjoyed these as much as me, I still cannot get enough of the one of the kid and his dog, it really hits home for my childhood!

And as always…

I’d appreciate some help and guidance on where to go and things I should see that may deserve a posting, E-Mail me a link at FGJossan@gmail.com or tweet me @PoweroftheFans with #ThePoweroftheFans and it will probably see it’s day in the sun. Doesn’t matter if it’s by you, a friend, or a complete stranger who makes things you like. Just make sure it links to the customizer’s/art’s post/site/submission, as I would prefer to credit the customizer/artist.

Thanks guys,
GLJossan.

A frickin’ FLYING Rancor of course!
So when you wake in a cold sweat after dreaming that a FLYING RANCOR has swooped from the heavens, ripped the roof off your pathetically flimsy home, and wrenched you from your bed in it’s razor-sharp claws, watching your blood seep from your lifeless body as it lifts you into it’s horrifying jaws, you can thank Clinton Felker at The Hand That Feeds for devising such a disturbing creature on a whim.
Of course, we must all thank The Maker for creating the lumbering Rancor to begin with.Related Fly PostsRawrr! Rancor Time. LEGO Star Wars Rancor Pit 75005 HD Set Review

The Power of the Fans: Art Edition - February 15, 2013 http://bit.ly/XLRK61 Hello Star Wars fans, this is GLJossan, welcome to The Power of the Fans: Art edition!
Hey guys, I had to really scrape around lately to find some good art, it was a chore, but I found some stuff today that’s pretty good. A few original characters coming so keep an eye out for that! I’d also like to apologize for this being later than I usually do, things have been a little backed up, so this was a bit late.
Okay, I’m sure you’re wondering what this one is doing here, well, photography is art after all and I find this to be really cool and quite smart. Commander Cody leading the way to repairing and preparing the camera! Now the question is, if that’s the camera, how was the picture taken!? Passage au numrique by ERBK on Deviant ArtSource
ORIGINAL CHARACTERS! Okay, this one brightened things up, my search through art was pretty antagonizing this time around, and it’s always fun to get the stand out, just the characters hanging out or goofing around, it’s refreshing. It’s sad that they are so few and far between. Padawans, Padawans Everywhere. by MonochromeAgent on Deviant ArtSource
This one that got plugged to me on twitter and I was SO not disappointed by this!it’s really cool, very life-like! I’m just amazed by the detailing of this, I really don’t know what to say, it just amazes me. I really hope to see more stuff from you Liam and it was great to get this from you. Here is a nifty looking cartoon stylized Yoda. This was a neat one, I thought this was a great showing of Yoda, the surroundings are pretty cool too, it’s a complete picture and I had almost not noticed he was levitating on the cushion when I first looked at the picture! A cool inking which was colored in photoshop, it’s just a straight up, bad ass picture of a Tusken Raider. It reminds me of a samurai, I dunno what it is, just, I seem a samurai standing there in the wrappings of a tusken raider and it is what has me loving this picture! Darth Maul, probably everyone’s favorite sith, (thanks Lucas arts for ruining him in the episode of clone wars last week,) I like the realism in this picture, very nicely done. One of my favorite things about this picture is the lighting, it gives a nice feel to the picture. Darth Maul by SereNNa666 on Deviant ArtSource
Okay, this is another original character, it’s pretty bad ass looking. I cannot help but wonder what that sphere is spinning there, is it just something to show use of the force, maybe some sort of sith relic, or maybe something sentimental to the character? Who knows at this rate, either way, it’s an awesome picture, she looks like a sith I wouldn’t want to cross. Sith Happens by medders On Deviant ArtSource
Well, that’s everything, sorry about the cut in content I again I had to scrape for this stuff, anyway, Ihope you guys and gals enjoyed the art, I know I did!
